Visiting & Tickets

What parking options are available at Plumpton Racecourse?

There’s plenty of free on-site parking available on a first-come, first-served basis. The racecourse is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Plumpton railway station, with regular services from London Victoria, Brighton, and Lewes.

Are dogs allowed at Plumpton Racecourse?

Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome in our Village Enclosure (Centre Course), but they must be kept on a lead at all times.

Is there seating available around the course?

Absolutely. There are ample seating options across the venue including picnic benches and limited seating on the top tier of the Sussex Grandstand, offering spectacular views.

What facilities are available for families and children?

Plumpton is a family-friendly venue, with family friendly entertainment on our Feature and Family Fun Racedays.

Is there a cashpoint on-site?

Yes, there is an on-site cashpoint.

How do I get there by public transport?

The racecourse is a short walk from Plumpton railway station, which has regular services from London Victoria, Brighton, and Lewes.

How many races are run on a typical race day?

Plumpton generally stages 6 or 7 race cards, although, occasionally, if there is a wealth of entries for a particular race, the race is split into two divisions, increasing the number of scheduled races. In these circumstances, the race times are subject to alteration.

What should I wear to Plumpton?

We encourage you to dress for the weather here at Plumpton. At Plumpton we like people to feel relaxed and comfortable so everyone can enjoy the racing.

For those dining in one of our restaurants or private boxes, we encourage smart casual dressing.

If you are looking to attend in fancy dress, we ask that you avoid inappropriate or offensive outfits, as anything of this nature may result in you being refused entry.

Do you offer any concessions?

There are no concessions for senior citizens. However, all racegoers can take advantage of the discounted advance ticket price by booking online or over the phone.

Do you charge for car parking?

All car parking at Plumpton is free

Do children enter the racecourse for free?

Yes, children aged 17 and under are free if accompanied by an adult

Do you offer group discounts?

Yes, we offer discounts for groups of 6+ on all our racedays.

Can I purchase tickets online on the day of racing?

General admission tickets are on sale online and on the gate on the day of racing.

Do you offer a military discount and/or a blue light discount

Plumpton Racecourse is part of the Blue Light Card scheme and the Tickets for Troop's scheme which enables its members to a handful of free tickets to Plumpton Racedays. Information is available on their websites.

 

Do I need to print my e-ticket?

Tickets must be shown to enter the racecourse, these can either be printed or shown on a smartphone screen.

Can I use cash on site?

yes, we accept cash at all our entrances and inside the course.

What time do gates open and close?

Each event page will state the schedule.  Please note, all timings are approximate.

We advise that you regularly check the times provided on the event page as these are subject to change without prior notice.

Hospitality, Food & Drink

Can I bring my own food and drink?

You can bring your own picnic (including alcohol) into the Village Enclosure only.

What food and drink options are available?

You’ll find a range of bars and catering stalls throughout, offering hot food, soft drinks, snacks, and alcoholic beverages - everything from burgers and chips to pies, cakes and even Greek.

Can I book hospitality or private boxes?

Yes, choose from packages including Paddock Restaurant, Final Fence Restaurant, Private Boxes, and our Directors’ Box. Booking is required in advance.

Do I need to book hospitality in advance?

yes, our restaurants and private boxes must be pre booked. We offer other catering concessions and cafe's around site that you may visit if you have not booked hospitality.

Photographers & Press

Do you have an official photographer?

Yes, Photographs can be obtained from our official racecourse photographer, Darren Cool. Darren's photos will be uploaded to his website after racing.

How can I get press accreditation

Can I take photos on a raceday?

Yes! You're welcome to take personal photos in public areas. Please note, commercial use requires press accreditation from the racecourse.

Cancellations & Refunds

What happens if a meeting is cancelled before or during the meet?

If a meeting is abandoned before completion of the first race, all admission tickets will be refunded in full. If a meeting is abandoned before completion of the third race, all admission tickets will be entitled to a 50% refund.

Accessibility

Is the racecourse accessible?

Yes, Plumpton offers accessible parking, accessible viewing areas and accessible toilets. Assistance dogs are also welcome. If you have any special requirements, please contact our team before your visit. You can find our more information regarding accessibility at Plumpton here.
