What a turnaround in the weather we’ve had – from an abandonment at our last fixture, to now racing on Good ground it seems spring is well and truly here. We last raced on the 25th January and so it has been a good while since we’ve had any horses or cameras here with us. This equivalent fixture in 2019 (2020’s equivalent was abandoned) was the springboard for Pentland Hills who romped home in our Maiden Hurdle before success at the Cheltenham Festival in the Triumph Hurdle the same season. Lets hope we see some of the same quality on track at Monday’s fixture.

12:30pm – Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Mares’ Handicap Hurdle
JAUNTY SORIA has shown her best form on decent ground and could be interesting in here. She had a spin around Fontwell on heavy ground in January, which was her first run for 582 days so she should come on plenty for that. Mon Petit Cheri could improve stepping up in trip.
1: Jaunty Soria
2: Mon Petit Cheri
13:00pm – Howden Sport And Equine Insurance Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Chase (for Gay Kindersley Trophy)
Charlie Mann’s THE LION DANCER had been pulled up on his last four starts before bouncing back to form to win by ten lengths at Chepstow last time. The two-time course and distance winner is up 8lb for that victory but he’s won off that mark before and if running up to form will be difficult to beat here. Tzar De L’elfe is a course winner here at Plumpton and could run well for Richard Rowe.
1: The Lion Dancer
2: Tzar De L’elfe
1:30pm – R.A.B.I./Joan Collison Memorial Handicap Hurdle
Sorbet can consider herself a little unlucky to still have her maiden tag having finished second on four of her seven starts over hurdles. Her second to Pink Sheets in October looks like good form now however and she ran well on the Flat last time. However, it could be another hard luck story as GROUP STAGE can claim this on his first start for Brian Barr. Second in a Listed race as a juvenile, he’s now down to a more than workable mark of 119.
1: Group Stage
2:05pm – Download The Star Sports App Now! Maiden Hurdle
DORKING LAD has been running consistently well this season, finishing in the frame on all 5 starts. This looks a good opportunity for him to enter the winner’s enclosure. Ginger Du Val showed some promise on his UK debut last time and could run into a place.
1: Dorking Lad
2: Ginger Du Val
2:40pm – horseracingbetting.co.uk Handicap Chase
FAIRWAY FREDDY showed some good form early in the season on decent ground and looks the one to beat here now back on his preferred surface. Wenceslaus took a heavy fall last time out but he’s another one who should go close if bouncing back.
1: Fairway Freddy
3:15pm – Call Star Sports On 08000 521 321 Handicap Hurdle
Richard Bandey’s First Assembly has made the frame on his last on his last three starts and looks set to go well here. He’s a bit of a mud lark, however, and enjoys a bit of cut in the ground. ONE FOR DUNSTAN won over course and distance last time having reverted back to hurdles. He stays well and Bryan Carver is good value for his 3lb claim.
1: One For Dunstan
2: First Assembly
3:50pm – Strong Flavours Catering Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race
Anthony Honeyball has an exceptional record in training bumper winners and WORLD OF DREAMS should take a lot of beating here. A winner back in November, he saw his race out really well and should be able to follow up despite giving weight away. Crystal Moon is an eye-catching entry for the powerful Alan King yard and is one to monitor in the betting market.
1: World Of Dreams
2: Crystal Moon
