Plumpton Racecourse will continue its Cheltenham Bonus Series for the 2020/21 season, albeit at a reduced rate in the light of the conditions we are faced with at the moment.

For the 2020/21 season we will have a Bonus of £40,000 with 4 qualifying races which will be run on Monday 16th November, Monday 7th December, Monday 14th December all in 2020 and Sunday 3rd January 2021. The conditions remain the same and so if a horse wins one of these qualifying races and they go on to win any steeplechase at the Cheltenham Festival in 2021, they will win £40k. Whilst there have been a few close calls, there has only ever been one winner of the series which was Voy Por Ustedes in 2006. He won a novice chase at Plumpton in December 2005 before triumphing in the Arkle at Cheltenham in 2006 at 15/2.

If the prize fund is won £32k goes to the winning owners, £4k to the winning trainer and £4k to be shared by the stable staff at the winning yard.

The bonus scheme helps Plumpton attract genuine Festival contenders, and provides Plumpton racegoers with a great opportunity to see racing’s future stars in action, and a fabulous cash bonus for owners and trainers during these difficult times on top of all the other benefits of winning at Jump Racing’s ultimate Festival. It also rewards the dedication and hard work of the stable staff of the winning trainer.
